The Sustainable Management of Bycatch in Latin America and Caribbean Trawl Fisheries (REBYC-II LAC) is a partnership between six countries and regional organizations to better manage bycatch and support the sustainable development of trawl fisheries and the people who depend on them. Over a five year period, the REBYC-II LAC project aims to reduce food loss and encourage sustainable livelihoods by improving the management of bycatch and minimizing discards and sea-bed damage, thereby transforming bottom trawl fisheries into responsible fisheries.
